I am originally from Cincinnati and I honestly did not know much about Saint Louis before I decided to go to college here. Upon moving to Saint Louis University, I was immediately delighted when my floor decided to go to Festival of Nations. It was so cool to be able to see a community from different backgrounds come together to celebrate each other. While I missed the performances, I got to try so many different foods that I had never heard of before. One of them being a coconut milk (still in the coconut) and it was delicious. My friends and I decided to get food from multiple booths so we could try a bunch of different things and my favorite was the Ethopian booth. I loved the food from there and have gotten it every time I’ve gone back. Festival of Nations was so fun and has become a staple for my friend group every year. I love getting to try different food that I wouldn’t normally be able to and connect with people from different backgrounds.
